International Women's Day
Happy International Women's Day! There's no better time to share my favorite coffee table book, which I found for FIFTY CENTS at McKay's: Bad Girls Throughout History - 100 Remarkable Women who Changed the World. Written and beautifully illustrated by @anndanger, this book contains more than just the usual suspects (swipe to get a peek at the women featured). I loved seeing old favorites (Elizabeth I, Josephine Baker) but enjoyed learning about new faces (like Artemisia Gentileschi, who overcame rejection by art academies, rumors that her father helped her with her paintings, and sexual assault to create art with powerful female protagonists.) If you're looking for a fun way to learn about amazing women, I highly recommend picking this one up. There's a female written and directed TV adaptation of this anthology in the works and I could not be more excited to see it!
