Clean Getaway by Nic Stone

Thanks to @librofm and @prhaudio for an ALC of Clean Getaway by Nic Stone! I'd been saving this one for #MiddleGradeMarch, and I'm glad that I did! This road-trip read about Scoob and his G'ma was a wild ride, but one with heart. I loved the way that Scoob learns about the civil rights movement along with learning about his family. Stone captures the dawning realization that your parents (and grandparents) are people (with their own pasts and problems) so well. There are no perfect characters in this book - just ones trying their best - and I love that about it. This one has me ready to buy my own camper and go on some adventures!
