Dangerous Alliance by Jennieke Cohen

I make *grabby hands* for all things Austen: books, adaptations, spin-offs, inspired-by's - I'm here for them all, and Dangerous Alliance by Jennieke Cohen is no exception. This historical fiction novel was a snuggle in bed, late for work, finish in a day kind of read. It has snark, it has romance, it has an Austen obsessed protagonist and references galore. Lady Victoria Aston needs to marry, and as she vascillates between Tom, her childhood best friend, and Carmichael, who's as wealthy and he is charismatic, she finds herself wondering...what would Jane Austen's characters do? Did I wish at times that Vicky were a little more emotionally mature? Sure. But this is a young adult novel, and it didn't stop me from being utterly charmed by Vicky and the hilarious cast of characters who surround her.
