Heartburn by Nora Ephron
I read a review of this book where a woman described Heartburn as being written by a nervous Pomeranian, and like...yes? Yes.

I know Nora Ephron has a devoted fanbase and DON'T COME FOR ME but I hated this book. I was intrigued by The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel vibes this book gave off (wealthy Jewish woman living in New York cracks jokes about her dissolving marriage), but the recipes and book within a book didn't work for me. The portrayal of women didn't work for me (this book was published in the 80s, and feels incredibly outdated - from the stereotypical neurotic housewife to the portrayal of LGBT people). Nothing about this novella really worked for me - except it's length.
