Down Among the Sticks and Bones by Seanan McGuire

Down Among the Sticks and Bones is the second novella in the Wayward Children series by Seanan McGuire. The series follows children who have traveled through doors (think Wonderland or Narnia). Book #2 follows two characters that were introduced in Book #1, Jack and Jill, but rather than taking place at Eleanor West's Home for Wayward Children, as in the first book, this one shows us Jack and Jill's other world - the one they found through the door.

I liked the first book in the series, but I loved this one. It's darker and asks more questions: about human nature, identity, family, loyalty, and most of all, choices. At it's heart, this book is about the choices we make and how they come to define us. These books may be short but they pack a punch! I will definitely be continuing to read this series and can't wait to see where it takes us next.
