I packed four books + a kindle for my long weekend at the lake and finished none of them: instead I spent my time floating, talking, and soaking up every bit of sunshine and joy at getting to see friends I haven’t seen in years (except behind a screen). I read a hundred pages on the screened porch, next to a friend, during a rainstorm, and it was the best reading time I’ve had in a long time. Now that I’m gone, I’m letting myself feel a little melancholy, but I’m also definitely looking forward to knocking out some of the books in this stack, which so many of you helped me to choose from my very large TBR pile(s).
