The Temporary Roomie by Sarah Adams is the second book in the It Happened in Nashville duology: the books exist in the same world but don’t have to be read in order (although the very end of book one sets up the beginning of this one). It was so fun to see Cooper and Lucy again! Drew’s sister’s best friend needs a place to crash, but he and Jessie can’t seem to stop pushing each other’s buttons. Let the games begin! This story has a prank war with all kinds of ridiculousness, but it also deals with pregnancy and overcoming emotional trauma. It has some of my favorite tropes: enemies to lovers, fake dating, and forced proximity. Drew and Jessie have great chemistry, but as with the first book in the series, this one is totally closed door.
