The Off Limits Rule by Sarah Adams was a book I added to my TBR because of an elevator pitch review @literarypengwyn reshared (I wish I could find the OG recommender)! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Lucy is a single mom who just moved in with her brother. She’s dealing with feelings of failure and trying to get her life back on track, while simultaneously falling for the very cute, very off-limits Cooper - her brother’s best friend. Every character, from Lucy’s son, Levi, to her brother, Drew, to her friend, Jessie, were so much fun. I adored the banter between Lucy and Cooper and Lucy’s total awkwardness - hiiiii 🤣 I loved the overall vibe, down to the pop culture references: everything from Friends to the Darcy hand flex! Lucy’s main issue is her insecurity, so if that’s a turn off for you in books, this one may not be for you. Lucy and Cooper have great chemistry, but there’s no sex: what the author refers to as closed door middle steam romance. I loved coming across a book like this because I feel like there isn’t a lot of middle ground when it comes to romance. The end of The Off Limits Rule clearly set up book two in the series, The Temporary Roomie, which I’ve already read and will be reviewing soon! via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/CPk81YnL6lX/
