A Scot in the Dark by Sarah MacLean is the second book in the Scandal and Scoundrel series, and this one follows King’s best friend Alec! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ After seventeen other men die, the “diluted duke” Alec inherits several things he doesn’t want - including responsibility for a beautiful ward, Lily, who he wants to get married off as soon as possible. After all, “Nothing made a bad day worse like a beautiful Englishwoman.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Both our hero and heroine are dealing with betrayal by someone they believed loved them, which brings them together in unexpected ways. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I love how the Talbot sisters immediately take Lily under their wing.
