Here’s a piece I completed when I was first learning how to embroider, one I never shared it because I was embarrassed. My eyes snag on all the imperfections, and the photo is slightly out of focus. I never retook it because I ultimately tore out the stitches and reused the fabric and hoop for another project. It never made it to the wall of embroidery my friends and family have seen: the finished, pretty pieces I’m proud of. But this photo is a reminder of how far I’ve come. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You may or may not know that I’ve been going THROUGH IT lately, and I’ve had to reframe my thinking about growth and progress, wins and losses. I’m approaching a “milestone” birthday next month and it’s made me extra reflective. I came across this photo, and it doesn’t feel all that different from the progress photos I'm taking these days. Day by day you don't see the changes, but then you look back and marvel at how far you've come. 🤍 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Design by @dmc_embroidery, I think 🤔 via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/CbXld48r8MJ/
