Shoutout to @yulin.kuang for recommending my latest read: The Duchess Hunt by Lorraine Heath! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Jim & Pam and Josh & Donna vibes but make it historical, aka everything I’ve ever wanted in a book. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The Duke of Kingsland tasks his secretary with finding him a wife, which is complicated by the fact that they have feelings for each other (!!!) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Loved the mutual pining, loved that everyone in the entire country knew before they did, loved the way their story unfolded. Hugh and Penelope both have secrets they’re keeping from their respective pasts and I enjoyed how that was explored. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Some of my favorite moments: -any and all dowager duchess moments (we stan a supportive MIL) -giving her a useless gift -“Assemble the staff immediately and have them begin a thorough search for Sir Purrcival.” 🤣 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I devoured this book in an afternoon and I have no notes other than that I’ll be picking up the other Lorraine Heath book I own as soon as possible! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ TW: domestic violence, sexual content ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ID1: I’m holding a paperback copy of The Duchess Hunt by Lorraine Heath.
