Thanks to many of you for recommending The Duchess Deal by Tessa Dare! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The first scene reminded me SO MUCH of the first scene of Friends that it made me laugh out loud! I instantly knew I was going to love this book. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you like Beauty and the Beast, marriage of convenience, and snark/banter, pick this one up! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Ash has become a virtual recluse after returning home from the war with injuries and scars over much of his body. Believing he isn’t worthy of love but in need of an heir, he embarks on a marriage of convenience with the seamstress responsible for making his ex-fiancée’s wedding dress. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We love a heroine who is taking none of the hero’s shit and that is Emma 1000%, but she also really understands Ash and his vulnerabilities. Emma’s friends and the household staff were adorable and really added to the story. In spite of having a troubled hero, this book was full of funny moments and was the perfect story to escape into.
