Mile High by Liz Tomforde is a book I’ve been seeing loads lately, and since I renewed my KU subscription to read Reckless, I decided to pick it up. This is very much a novel about fixing your shit so that you can be someone your partner deserves, and while I was glad for the mental health rep and plus sized rep, this flight attendant/hockey player romance fell flat for me. I also discovered after reading that Tomforde is a white woman writing Black characters. I won’t be recommending this one or reading the rest of the series. Instead: for athlete, male mental health, and panic attack rep, I recommend Take a Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert; for women of color in the workplace, enemies to lovers, and family vibes, I recommend The Worst Best Man by Mia Sosa; for a secret relationship/dealing with media scrutiny, I recommend Party of Two by Jasmine Guillory.
