A moment of appreciation for this stunning cover ๐Ÿ’š The Duchess Takes a Husband by Harper St. George is the final book in the Gilded Age Heiresses series and made for a great conclusion, as we finally get to see Camille get her much deserved HEA! Widow Camille and ladies’ man Jacob strike a bargain: he’ll give her lessons in seduction if she’ll be his fake fiancรฉe. The relationship might be fake, but their feelings are real — and I am here for it! Their story is so lovely, and I especially love the role that their friends and family play in helping them navigate their relationship. Camille is recovering from an abusive marriage, and Jacob is so patient and kind — their story reminded me a lot of What a Wallflower Wants by Maya Rodale, which I read late last year! Definitely check trigger warnings, because learning to trust and be intimate with someone in the aftermath of abuse is central to this storyline. I also really enjoyed the way this tied in to Camille’s burgeoning interest in the women’s suffrage movement. I somehow skipped book three in the series, so I’m looking forward to picking that one up to round off the set!
