Chain-Gang All Stars by Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah has been getting loads of love on bookstagram since it’s debut, and with good reason! This not so dystopian examination of the failures of our capitalist and carceral systems, from the perspectives of all who are touched by it, is absolutely phenomenal. Cinematic prose propels you into the heart of this story, while at the same time causing you to question your vicarious consumption of it’s violence. I couldn’t stop listening to the cast narrated audiobook and highly highly recommend it.
