I first read Alisha Rai earlier this year and while First Comes Like was nice, I’m so glad I decided to pick up The Right Swipe, because this one is much more my speed. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Rhiannon is a woman running her own company, kicking ass and taking names. She doesn’t have time for an apology from the guy who gave her the best night of her life and then ghosted. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Samson is a former pro-athlete, still reeling from the death of his father figure and his abrupt retirement from football. He’s doing whatever he can to help his aunt’s company from going under - even if it means crossing paths with someone entirely unexpected. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Rai’s acknowledgments at the start of the book really set the tone for this story in terms of heart and humor, and I loved Rhiannon and Samson! I also loved the way their personal journeys, independent of their relationship, opened the floor for a lot of important conversations about things like workplace harassment and the effects of CTE. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Now that I’ve read book one and book three of the Modern Love series, I guess I need to track down book two! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ TW: sexual harassment/workplace harassment, abusive relationship, Alzheimer’s, CTE, death of a loved one, panic attacks ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ID: A paperback copy of The Right Swipe lays on a picnic table. I’m touching the book with my left hand, and you can see the lilac band of my Fitbit and my lilac manicure. via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/CRgxCELLQhu/
