While dying a slow death waiting for the next Bergman Brothers novel to be published, so when @chloe_liese posted that Axel was vibing with the heroes in The Duchess Deal and Chasing Cassandra, I added them to my TBR pretty much instantly (while all my other books gave me the side eye). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Chasing Cassandra by Lisa Kleypas is a freaking delight of a historical romance, complete with sunshine Cassandra, who just wants to marry for love, and grump Tom, who is of course secretly a softie, despite his claim that he only possesses five emotions (love isn’t one of them, natch, but we’ll see about that!) The contrast between effusive Cassandra and buttoned up Tom was so much fun to watch and their marriage of convenience story had me laughing and swooning. This is the sixth book in the Ravenels series, and while it’s clear that I should have been familiar with several characters, I didn’t feel lost and think you’re probably okay to read them out of order. I’m definitely going to keep an eye out for any Lisa Kleypas romances that cross my path! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ TW: assault (attempted rape) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ID: I’m holding a kindle displaying the ebook cover of Chasing Cassandra. My hammock and some trees are visible in the background. P.S. Since writing this review, I’ve read an ARC of BB #4 and it is, EVERYTHING.
