Silver Elite by Dani Francis has been absolutely everywhere lately and it definitely feels like a book that is capitalizing on the moment. The novel follows Wren, a young woman in a world where genetically modified people with telepathic abilities are being hunted, who finds herself training to be a special agent for the very trying to kill her. I loved the idea, particularly the exploration of what it does to someone psychologically to live as a double agent, but I found the execution lacking in ways I can’t really get into without spoilers (feel free to DM me!) I also found the romantic relationship to be the least interesting element of this story — I understand what they were trying to do, but I just don’t think it worked. There is a clear set up for more books in the series but I think I’ll be waiting to see reviews before picking them up. 📸: I’m holding up a kindle displaying the ebook cover of Silver Elite with one hand. via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/DJ4FO6GA-l_/
