A Night to Surrender is book one in Tessa Dare’s Spindle Cove series and I loved getting to backpedal and find out more about the origins of Spindle Cove, a town where unconventional women — whether sickly, brainy, or scandalous — find refuge. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Susanna and Bram have such a charming meet cute and their story is great. Bram was injured in the war but wants desperately to return: to prove he still has what it takes, he has to assemble a militia from a ragtag group of men. Susanna is extremely protective of her town and it’s residents and wants absolutely nothing about it to change. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I loved how touchy feely this one was! It was by far my favorite thing about it. It made me start to think about how each book in this series pretty closely fits a different love language: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ A Night to Surrender: physical touch A Week to Be Wicked: quality time A Lady by Midnight: acts of service Any Duchess Will Do: gift giving Do You Want to Start a Scandal: words of affirmation ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Anyway, the whole series is great and I love it so much k byeee ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ CW: chronic illness, disability/chronic pain, sexual content ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ID: I’m holding a kindle displaying the ebook cover of A Night to Surrender with one hand. There’s a painting, partially visible in the background, with purples and oranges that match the colors of the book cover. via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/CghHi-cLv7L/
