When a friend recently reminded me that I hadn’t yet read Yours Truly by Abby Jimenez (her favorite AJ book) it got moved up my TBR! The Hating Game wedding subplot (iykyk) is a major plot point of this book, which could have felt overwrought but wasn’t. There were so many things I enjoyed about Briana and Jacob’s story: the letter writing, the evolution of their relationship, the journaling, the anxiety rep, the angsty pining — I could go on and on. I said to myself more than once: THEY. ARE. SO. CUTE. But of course it goes deeper than that. Jimenez navigates some serious trauma in her books, and this one is no exception. CW for organ failure, miscarriage, and cheating, among others.
