Thanks to @grandcentralpub for an advance copy of Little Alleluias by Mary Oliver, out now! As a certified Mary Oliver fangirl, I was beyond delighted when I found out her team was releasing a posthumous collection of her poetry and prose, and that the foreword was written by another favorite poet, Natalie Diaz! Some poems — little alleluias, Oliver called them — are familiar, while others are new, and I thoroughly enjoyed most of it (with the exception of some of her more academic writings about other authors). I firmly believe that everyone’s life would be better with a little Mary Oliver in it, and this collection is no exception. “Summer is over, or nearly. And therefore the green is not green anymore, but yellow, beige, russet, rust; all the darknesses are beginning to settle in. And therefore why pray to permanence, why not pray to impermanence, to change, to – whatever comes next.” 📸: I’m holding up a kindle displaying the ebook cover of Little Alleluias. via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/DPOi8wQD--3/
