It’s been a couple of years since I read In a Jam, and it was so fun to get to return to Friendship, RI with In a Rush by Kate Canterbary! Emme and Ryan are childhood best friends bonded by trauma who have grown up and made good — except when it comes to relationships. When Ryan calls on their years ago marriage pact, they have fun rehabbing his image and getting revenge on Emme’s shitty ex, but their growing feelings complicate everything. In a Rush has some of the best teacher representation I’ve seen in a rom-com, which I’m pretty sure I also said about In a Jam, so shoutout to Kate Canterbary for not making me roll my eyes every ten minutes. Do I think it needed to be 480 pages? No. Did I enjoy it anyway? Absolutely. I’m excited for her next release, In a Second, slated to publish later this year! 📸: A kindle displaying the ebook cover of In a Rush sits on a white shelf.
