Waiting for Eden by Elliot Ackerman is a read it in one sitting, think about it for days kind of novel; a haunting exploration of the impact of war without setting foot on a battlefield. I don’t want to tell you too much about it, so I’ll just say that this novel does for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan what Hemingway’s did for WWI and the Spanish Civil War, and I can’t stop thinking about it. 📸: In the first photo, I’m holding up a hardback copy of Waiting for Eden with one hand. In the second, I’m holding up the same book with the dust jacket removed so that you can see the constellation Andromeda embossed on the cover. via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/DLH56Pogeso/
