James’ tether to her twin drags her back to the small town she fled twenty years ago. To understand why she’s there, she begins an investigation into the person she knows best in the world — only to realize that she may not have known him at all. A Sea of Unspoken Things by Adrienne Young was the perfect snow day read; it’s set in the Pacific Northwest and it was colddd. I flew through this book and just as I did when I read The Unmaking of June Farrow last year, I loved the slight genre bend-y nature of A Sea of Unspoken Things: a touch of magical realism? A lil romance? Some mystery/thriller vibes? I am so there. I love the way this story navigates identity, grief, family, nature, and art. Young always kills it when it comes to atmosphere and this one was no exception. 📸: I’m holding up a kindle displaying the ebook cover of A Sea of Unspoken Things with one hand. There is snow visible in the background. via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/DEumTd4y5eU/
